Former Hawaii federal congressman Tulsi Gabbard announced on Monday (August 26) that she will support former President Trump in the November elections. Gabbard, who left the Democratic Party in 2022, had run for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020 and had experience debating alongside Vice President Harris.
At a gathering of the Michigan National Guard Association on Monday, Gabbard made the announcement, with Trump also speaking at the event. “This administration has put us on multiple fronts of wars around the world, and closer to the brink of nuclear war than at any other time,” Gabbard said.
“This is one of the main reasons I am committed to doing everything I can to bring President Trump back to the White House, where he can once again serve as our Commander-in-Chief,” Gabbard added. Gabbard participated in the Democratic Party’s presidential primary in 2020. She later left Congress, exited the Democratic Party, and attended conservative political events such as the Conservative Political Action Conference.
In recent weeks, the former congresswoman has been preparing with Trump for the upcoming debate next month between Trump and Democratic candidate Vice President Harris. Gabbard had debated alongside Harris during the 2020 presidential campaign.
A few days ago, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. halted his independent presidential campaign and threw his support behind Trump.
