New York Subway G Line Upgrades and Renovations This Month with Multi-Period Service Adjustments.

New York City Subway’s G Line to undergo multiple service adjustments this month, affecting nighttime and weekend schedules. Passengers are advised to plan ahead, allocate extra commuting time, and consider alternative transportation options.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) announced that on weekdays from April 13th to 15th and April 20th to 24th, the G Line train service will be suspended between Bedford–Nostrand Avenues station in Brooklyn and Court Square station in Queens from 9:45 PM to 5:00 AM.

Additionally, a complete shutdown on the same section is scheduled from the evening of April 17th (Friday) to the early morning of April 20th (Monday).

To minimize inconvenience for passengers, MTA will provide free T403 shuttle buses operating between Bedford–Nostrand Avenues station and Court Square station, making stops at relevant stations along the route.

During the shutdown, the G Line trains will still run on a partial segment between Church Ave station and Bedford–Nostrand Avenues station, with a frequency of approximately every 10 minutes during the day and evening.

MTA advises that besides the announced adjustments, there may be additional service changes in the coming months. Passengers are recommended to stay informed of the latest transportation updates through the official website, mobile apps, or by subscribing to the “Weekender” email newsletter.

MTA stated that the service adjustments are primarily in line with the signal system modernization project and routine track maintenance for the long-term upgrade plan of the G Line. During the construction period, workers will install new signal equipment, including cables and related systems, to enhance overall operational efficiency and safety.
