“Trump has accepted Iran’s ten-point plan? White House: Absurd”

The White House spokesperson, Karoline Leavitt, said it is absurd to think that President Trump has accepted Iran’s ten-point plan, as reported by the media.

Leavitt clarified that she has seen many false reports in the media about the US-Iran peace negotiations and plan.

The White House revealed that the US has dispatched Vice President Pence, special envoy Steve Witkoff, and Jared Kushner to attend the Iran issue talks in Pakistan on Saturday.

“The first round of talks will take place on Saturday morning local time, and we look forward to these face-to-face discussions,” said Leavitt.

Leavitt disclosed that the initial ten-point plan proposed by Iran was “not serious at all and unacceptable,” and has been completely ignored by the US.

She pointed out that the reports in the media claiming that the US had accepted Iran’s ten-point plan are inaccurate.

The White House earlier stated that the ten-point plan released by the Iranian National Security Council and widely quoted in the media is not the same as the conditions agreed upon by the White House previously for a ceasefire.

The senior official, who declined to be named, stated: “The document reported by the media is not the final working framework.”

This version of the contents contradicts the actions that Washington openly expressed hope for Iran to take.

Leavitt stated that Iran has “recognized reality” and proposed a “more reasonable” and streamlined solution to the US. This proposal is the version accepted by the US and has not been made public yet.

“President Trump and his team believe the new revised plan is a feasible basis for negotiations and aligns with the 15-point plan we put forward,” Leavitt said.

The White House said that the US military’s operational success on the frontlines has created the “greatest leverage” for President Trump and his negotiators to find opportunities for a diplomatic resolution.

Leavitt noted that Iran has had to agree to a ceasefire because they “can no longer endure being bombed and cannot bear the consequences that may occur after the 8:00 pm deadline set by President Trump last night.”

The White House secretary pointed out that the idea of Trump accepting a “wish list” that allows Iran to enrich uranium is “absurd.”

She mentioned that Iran has expressed willingness to surrender its enriched uranium but has not provided more details.

“The President’s bottom line, which is Iran stopping uranium enrichment activities within Iranian territory, remains unchanged,” Leavitt said. “The idea that President Trump would accept Iran’s conditions list as part of an agreement is completely absurd.”

“This is a red line that the President will not back down on, and he is committed to ensuring this is implemented. We hope to achieve this through diplomatic means,” she added.

The White House also refuted the latest reports from Iranian media, which claimed that Iran declared the closure of the Hormuz Strait due to Israeli attacks on Lebanon violating the ceasefire agreement. Leavitt stated that the US President still hopes that the strait can be “immediately, swiftly, and safely” reopened.

“Lebanon is not among the participants in the ceasefire agreement. This has been communicated to all those involved in the ceasefire,” she added.

Iran’s speaker of the parliament, Bagher Ghalibaf, posted on social media X on Wednesday, stating that three terms from Iran’s ten-point ceasefire proposal were violated before the negotiations started.

He noted that the ceasefire did not extend to Lebanon, there was an “intrusive drone” entering Iranian airspace, and claimed that Iran’s “uranium enrichment rights” were also included in the ten-point plan.

Iran’s top diplomat on Wednesday demanded that the US make a choice between the ceasefire and allowing Israel to continue attacking Lebanon.

Iranian Foreign Minister Aragchi wrote on Telegram: “The conditions for a ceasefire between Iran and the US are clear: the US must choose between a ceasefire and continuing to wage war through Israel; the two cannot coexist.”
