Recently, a video of a couple in Wuhu, Anhui, using a high-speed train as their “wedding car” to pick up the bride has caught attention online, claiming to have the most expensive wedding car in the world.
The video shows the bride dressed in a traditional Chinese wedding gown, the groom in a suit, walking towards the high-speed train platform with a photographer following behind.
According to a report by Jimo News on April 6th, the bride, Liu Jiping, is from Wuhu, Anhui, and the groom, Chen Wei, is from Chaohu, Anhui. They met four years ago and tied the knot on March 28 this year. To accommodate both sides of the family, they decided to hold a thank-you banquet in Chaohu first and then return to Wuhu in the evening.
“To ensure everyone could sit together, we booked the tickets 10 days in advance,” Liu Jiping said. Around 8 a.m. that day, the wedding party arrived at the Wuhu high-speed train station. A total of 17 people, including the newlyweds, boarded the G7722 high-speed train bound for Chaohu. Along the way, the couple enthusiastically handed out wedding candies to passengers, who all offered blessings to the newlyweds.
Afterward, the groom, Chen Wei, posted the video of the wedding pick-up on social media, sparking discussions.
Some netizens jokingly commented, “A wedding car worth 180 million yuan is indeed expensive.” “Don’t forget, one of my college classmates’ dad took the train to pick up the bride back in the day.”
Many netizens also shared that they used buses, tricycles, and even minibusses for their weddings.
In fact, in recent years, it has become quite common for couples to use high-speed trains as their wedding cars.

On December 11, 2021, a long-distance couple from Bengbu, Anhui, used a high-speed train for their wedding pick-up.
