Photo Gallery: Open Indian Tulip Garden Welcomes Spring with a Hundred Flowers Enticing Visitors

Spring is the season when flowers bloom in full splendor, and the largest tulip garden in Asia – the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden – has opened its doors to visitors. Tourists wander through the sea of tulips, admiring the colorful flowers, with the sounds of cameras clicking to capture this beauty and the essence of spring.

Located by Dal Lake in Srinagar, Kashmir, at the foothills of the Zabarwan Range, the tulip garden covers approximately 30 hectares, making it the largest tulip garden in Asia. The garden was first opened to the public in 2007 with the aim of promoting the horticulture and tourism industry in the Kashmir Valley.

The Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden features a seven-tiered terrace design, housing around 75 varieties of tulips, with over 1.75 million bulbs of tulips of different colors blooming in abundance. Additionally, the garden also showcases spring flowers such as hyacinths, daffodils, roses, irises, anemones, and cyclamens, providing visitors with a colorful visual feast.

The garden usually hosts the Srinagar Tulip Festival in March and April each year, during which the tulips bloom for 3 to 4 weeks.

During the flower season, clusters of vibrant tulips compete in beauty, with colors ranging from red, white, yellow, pink, to purple, creating a lively and stunning display. The beautiful garden not only attracts tens of thousands of local visitors during this period but also draws thousands of tourists from around the world who come to admire the spectacle.
