On the afternoon of April 2nd, a 4.7 magnitude earthquake struck Toksun County in Xinjiang, with tremors felt in Turpan and Urumqi.
The China Earthquake Networks Center officially measured the earthquake at 4.7 magnitude, occurring at 15:39 on April 2nd in Toksun County of Turpan City, Xinjiang (latitude 43.21 degrees, longitude 87.71 degrees) with a depth of 25 kilometers.
The epicenter was located in Kelajun Town, 47 kilometers northwest of Toksun County, Turpan City, in a mountainous uninhabited area, 88 kilometers from Toksun County, 128 kilometers from Turpan City, and 66 kilometers from Urumqi.
