Justice Minister Commends Heroic Police in Mayor’s Residence Explosion Case

The U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi on Friday honored nine police officers for their outstanding performance in the attempted bombing case at the mayor’s residence earlier this month, calling them “the most outstanding” heroes.

According to the New York Post, Bondi commended all nine officers involved in apprehending the attempted bombers, including Assistant Police Commissioner Aaron Edwards of the New York City Police Department, who gained fame on social media for jumping over a fence to stop the criminals.

“Thank you, NYPD. You are the best, you are the bravest,” Bondi said. “In the world we live in, your job is extremely challenging. That day – whenever I think about it, I shudder.”

Bondi stated that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and other law enforcement agencies all greatly appreciate the New York City Police Department.

“You are the most excellent, the most outstanding.” she said. “We are extremely grateful to you. You perfectly embody this honor. If you hadn’t stopped those people that day, they would have committed crimes again. We all know they wanted to be the perpetrators of the Boston bombing case, and on a larger scale.”

On March 7th, a confrontation between protesting parties occurred in the Upper East Side of Manhattan. It was reported that a Pennsylvania youth influenced by the terrorist organization ISIS threw a homemade bomb at the feet of Edwards and Sergeant Luis Navarro. The former vigorously pursued the criminal, while the latter protected the crowd.

The bomb device did not detonate, and no one was injured. Two suspects have been arrested and are currently being held by the federal government on charges of terrorism.
