On March 26, there were two random stabbing incidents in the Luohu and Longgang districts of Shenzhen, Guangdong Province. As of the reporter’s deadline, the news has been tightly sealed off, and local police have not issued any official announcements.
A witness at the scene described the terrifying scene to the reporter. Xiaojun (pseudonym) works in the commercial pedestrian street of Dongmen in Luohu District. On the morning of the 26th, around 6 a.m., a woman was seen near the intersection of Renmin North Road waving a long knife and shouting erratically.
According to Xiaojun, the woman attacked 5 people, resulting in 2 deaths and 3 injuries, including a 14-year-old student. The student’s mother was present and witnessed her child lying motionless on the ground. “It was really frightening. She killed 2 people. No one dared to approach her while she was holding the knife. She might have had mental problems as she targeted both men and women. When she went crazy and started stabbing people, even the men were afraid to get close.”
Xiaojun revealed that two ambulances arrived, and around 7 a.m., several police officers restrained the attacker with steel forks.
The incident has been tightly sealed off, and related videos have been mostly blocked. However, scattered videos can still be found online, with traces in the comment section. Xiaojun said, “The innocent pedestrians who were hurt are really pitiful. The news is tightly sealed off; otherwise, it would affect the economic development in the Dongmen area, especially since there weren’t many people after the epidemic.”
Later that evening, another stabbing incident occurred at Ai Lian Second Market in Longcheng Street, Longgang District, Shenzhen.
A local resident told the reporter that the incident happened on the road where her sister works, but she was unsure of the exact location. She heard that it was a delivery person who attacked and killed two students.
Another resident claimed that a JD.com delivery person stabbed six people, resulting in two deaths. However, the news of six casualties has not been confirmed.
The incident spread rapidly in delivery groups, with a delivery person sharing, “Many groups have been shut down, and I dare not send videos to reporters, as it feels like everything disappears. The scrutiny is intense now, and all our groups are gone.”
According to the delivery person, the incident started with a scuffle between the JD.com delivery person and the students, leading to an argument. The delivery person lost control and stabbed the two students who were arguing with him. “So, it’s scary to argue with emotionally unstable people outside.”
Online videos show the assailant being subdued by multiple people on the ground, with one person apparently calling the police. The reported address in the call was Longcheng Street, Longgang District. Additionally, circulating chat records mention that the delivery person stabbed one person more than ten times, with seven to eight police cars and twenty to thirty officers at the scene, setting up a police cordon.
As of the reporter’s deadline, local police have not issued alerts for these two incidents, and online news continues to be suppressed.
