China Democracy Party holds a weekly event in Times Square, New York City, to protect Taiwan. This Saturday, March 22nd, coincided with the recent escalation of Chinese military aircraft disturbing Taiwan. Members of the China Democracy Party displayed banners saying “Chinese people oppose invasion of Taiwan” and chanted slogans like “Protect Taiwan, defend freedom, Chinese freedom.”
Recently, some online provocateurs have been talking about taking advantage of the US attacking Iran to forcibly unify Taiwan. Additionally, after a period of relative calm, Chinese military aircraft have once again been frequently harassing Taiwan. Wu Pingqi, a member of the China Democracy Party, stated: “This displays obvious strategic bullying behavior. Everyone should remain vigilant against Chinese military aircraft circling Taiwan. All Chinese people, and people around the world, should be wary of this demon known as the Chinese Communist Party.”
Member Gao Xu expressed, “The people of Taiwan have democracy and the right to vote. By overthrowing the CCP, we also hope for democracy in the future of China. The Communist Party is no good, why should we let it rule over us? Protecting Taiwan is protecting democracy.”
Member Dong Quantao said, “Protecting Taiwan means protecting freedom, protecting democracy. Taiwan is a democratic model for us Chinese people, and also a beacon. Taiwan has set an example for the world – that Chinese people can also have democracy and freedom. Advocating for Taiwan is protecting the last piece of democratic land for us Chinese. The CCP’s threats to forcibly unify Taiwan expose its thuggery and evil to the world, but we are not afraid of its thuggish and terror tactics, and we will resist to the end.”
