Recently, a series of major accidents resulting in casualties have occurred in multiple locations in China. According to official reports, these accidents have caused a total of 12 deaths and 6 injuries. The reported number of casualties has sparked doubts online.
On March 15, according to the official website of the Chinese Communist Party’s Emergency Management Department, at approximately 11:05 am on March 13, a fire broke out in the painting workshop of Guangrui (Guangdong) Auto Parts Co., Ltd. in Yong’an Town, Dinghu District, Zhaoqing City, Guangdong, resulting in 3 deaths and 4 injuries.
On March 14, a fire broke out in a self-built house in Meizhou, Guangdong, resulting in 3 deaths and 2 injuries. On the same day, in the vicinity of Yanlieshan in Jiujiang, Jiangxi, some personnel fell while rock climbing, resulting in 3 deaths.
On March 15, a mechanical accident occurred at an automobile parts company in Yantai, Shandong, resulting in 3 deaths.
Many netizens have raised questions, such as “Why are they all incidents involving 3 people?” and “What’s the explanation behind this?” Some netizens replied, “In incidents involving more than three but fewer than ten people, it is considered a major accident.”
Furthermore, some netizens expressed their concerns about the timing of the reports, with comments like “Why wasn’t this reported earlier?” and “Yesterday at noon, there was a major fire at Dongsheng Technology in Chuzhou, Anhui, which was not announced, despite dozens of fire trucks being dispatched.”
