Recently, in Wuhan, Hubei, a violent incident occurred due to the noise from a square dance, which resulted in a knife attack. The incident has drawn attention.
On the evening of March 11th, a violent dispute broke out between the owner of a hot pot restaurant in the Hanyang District of Wuhan and the crowd dancing square dance at the doorway. The situation escalated, leading to the owner losing control of his emotions and injuring two people, including a dancer and a citizen who tried to intervene.
According to the report by “Qi Lu Evening News,” on March 13th, nearby businesses revealed that the original shop at the incident location used to be a dental clinic and was not operational at night. Square dance enthusiasts have been gathering there for activities.
After the clinic was rented out and turned into a hot pot restaurant in February, the crowd continued to gather in front of the door for dancing, severely affecting the restaurant’s evening operations. The restaurant had tried to communicate with the dancers multiple times, but their concerns were ignored.
Local businesses disclosed that there had been long-standing grievances between the two parties.
Community workers in the area stated that they had organized negotiations between the two sides multiple times, and proposed relocating the dancers to a nearby open space. However, the proposal was firmly rejected, leading to a deadlock in negotiations and resulting in the violent incident.
This incident has sparked discussions among netizens.
User “HandsomeTreeOnlyPure”: “There were multiple complaints, but both the police and the community failed to deal with it properly.”
User “ChatterChuckleCough”: “I feel sorry for the owner of the hot pot restaurant.”
Several other netizens expressed opinions that the police did not intervene, the community was indifferent, and the hot pot restaurant owner was left helpless.
