Overseas Chinese Association and Taiwanese Compatriot Association to Organize 2026 Lunar New Year Exchange and Celebration.

The World Taiwan Compatriots Association (WTBA) and the Northern California Overseas Chinese Association held a press conference at the South Bay Overseas Education Center on March 11 (Wednesday) to announce the 2026 “Spring Exchange and Celebration Event” scheduled for March 22 (Sunday). The event aims to bring together overseas Taiwanese in the Bay Area to interact and celebrate in a lively festive atmosphere.

President of the World Taiwan Compatriots Association Wu Mu-ye delivered a speech, expressing gratitude for the long-standing support and friendship from the overseas community. He also thanked the enthusiastic cooperation from various overseas associations, as well as the generous sponsorship from numerous businesses and organizations.

Wu Yuping, Director of the Northern California Overseas Chinese Association, mentioned that the event on that day will be co-hosted by Du Zhaoming and Zhou Yizhen, with the program expected to conclude by 3:30 pm. The event will kick off with a fitness drum team performance, followed by dance and music performances by various Bay Area dance troupes and the Ai Jiu Jiu Music Band, promising a rich and exciting program.

The event will also feature several community service and cultural booths, with the most notable being the health check-up services. This year, Bai Shui University Vice President will lead a team to provide health checks, utilizing AI technology to enhance efficiency and medical quality. Free health check-ups will be provided for those facing financial difficulties.

Furthermore, the event will showcase a strong atmosphere of the Chinese New Year calendar, including Chinese cultural display booths exhibiting traditional art pieces such as Chinese paintings, calligraphy bookmarks, and paper-cut works for the public to experience the beauty of Chinese culture up close.

In terms of lifestyle services, the event will also offer financial planning, insurance, and retirement consulting services to provide families with relevant information. Additionally, there will be lifestyle product booths set up for visitors to explore and purchase items.

Wu Yuping expressed hope that through cultural performances, health services, and community interactions, overseas compatriots can engage and socialize in the festive atmosphere of the event, spending a warm and enjoyable weekend together.

The press conference also saw the presence of representatives from several co-organizing units, including Vice President Xiang Yunhui of the Northern California International Outstanding People Association, President Wu Wenyi of the Silicon Valley International Outstanding People Association, President Liang Xiaozhen of the San Francisco Peace International Outstanding People Association, President Cai Xinling of the Fremont International Outstanding People Association, President He Zhaozhu of the WTBA Western USA Chapter, and Lin Zicheng, the director of the Ai Jiu Jiu Music Band, among others, who expressed their support for the event.

At the press conference, speaker Li Jingya from the Zhongshu Dao Academy was invited to introduce the upcoming youth life growth camp scheduled for March 15. She mentioned that the growth camp aims to inspire the inner strength of young people, nurture filial piety, compassion, and empathy, allowing children to pursue their academic and personal achievements without forgetting about character and their initial aspirations, reflecting on the true meaning of life.
