Recently, mainland netizens uploaded a video claiming that a girl in Ciba Town, Jia County, Pingdingshan, Henan, was assaulted by a couple on the street.
The video shows the girl being brutally beaten by the son and daughter-in-law of an elderly woman after a collision involving an electric bike. The man even used a brick to hit the girl’s head, slapped her face with his shoe, kicked her, and the daughter-in-law joined in the assault. During this, a woman holding a child and another man who tried to intervene were also verbally abused and pushed by the attackers.
In the video, the girl did not fight back but sat on the ground holding her head while being assaulted for several minutes.
According to a report by the mainland media “Huashang Daily,” the 15-year-old girl, Ding, collided with an elderly person while riding an electric bike with her family. Ding’s mother stated that when her daughter approached to inquire about the incident, an argument broke out, and she was subsequently attacked by the elderly person’s son with shoes and bricks, resulting in a fractured eyebrow bone, semi-consciousness, and impaired vision and hearing. Following the incident, the girl was taken to the hospital for treatment, and the assailants have been detained by the police.
A netizen claiming to be the victim’s sister wrote that on the day of the incident, her sister and brother were out for a meal and accidentally collided with an elderly lady while riding an electric bike. Her sister promptly stopped and tried to communicate with the elderly lady, who continued to hurl insults, prompting the girl to retort. Subsequently, the elderly woman called her son and daughter-in-law, who immediately resorted to violence against her sister without saying a word.
The on-site video circulated widely on the internet, sparking public anger and condemnation, with netizens leaving comments such as “heartbreaking to watch,” “using such heavy-handed tactics on a child,” and “being so arrogant relying on power.”
A substantial number of concerned citizens gathered at the entrance of the police station in support of the girl, demanding justice.
The incident occurred on February 19, but it was not until February 21 that the Ciba Town government issued a formal statement on the matter. According to the report, on February 19, 2026, at 19:40, a dispute arose between Yang and Ding Luo due to a collision between their electric two-wheeler bikes in Ciba Town, Jia County. Upon the arrival of Yang’s son Liu Fei and daughter-in-law Han Na, they verbally abused and physically assaulted Ding Luo, her sister Ding Le, and several others present at the scene, including Guo, Zhang, and Xue. Currently, the public security organs have taken criminal coercive measures against the suspects Liu Fei and Han Na, and the case is under further investigation.
