Ikea to Open New Store in Colorado, United States

IKEA, a furniture and home goods retailer, announced on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, that it will be opening a new store in Fort Collins, Northern Colorado in 2026. This marks a part of IKEA’s expansion plans in the United States and will be the third store in Colorado for the Swedish-founded company headquartered in the Netherlands.

The first IKEA store in the state opened in Centennial in 2011, followed by a smaller “Plan and Order Point” in Springs last year.

The upcoming IKEA store in Fort Collins will be located in the Front Range Village shopping center at 4250 Corbett Drive. Spanning an area of 64,000 square feet, it will be approximately one-sixth the size of the Centennial store.

The new store is set to offer 3,200 products for customers to purchase, including home decor, 250 small furniture items, as well as food items like meatballs, plant-based meatballs, hot dogs, vegetarian hot dogs, plant-based hot dogs, and cinnamon rolls.

There will be a “Central Planning Zone” within the store where IKEA experts will assist customers in creating ideal spaces like kitchens, bedrooms, and bathrooms.

IKEA aims to open 10 new stores in the United States in 2026, including locations in Chicago, Tulsa, and Los Angeles.

Rob Olson, Interim CEO of IKEA USA, stated, “Despite the challenges in the external environment, we achieved expansion and growth in the 2025 fiscal year through new store models, digital innovation, and enhanced customer service through increased incentive programs. We are fulfilling our commitments to the community and the environment. In the 2026 fiscal year, we will continue to develop our business on this foundation, offering more affordable products to benefit the American people.”

The supply chain director of IKEA had previously noted that due to President Trump’s tariffs increasing the costs of imported products such as bookcases, mattresses, and sofas, IKEA is planning to raise the percentage of products it sources domestically in the United States.
