FBI Releases Photo to Search for Masked Criminal Who Kidnapped NBC Anchor’s Mother.

On Tuesday afternoon, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) released photos of the suspect in the abduction of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, seeking the public’s help. It has been ten days since Nancy’s disappearance. Nancy is the mother of NBC anchor Savannah Guthrie.

According to authorities, Nancy was last seen around 9:30 p.m. on January 31 near her residence in Tucson, Arizona.

FBI Director Kash Patel took to social media to provide updates on the latest developments in the search for Nancy. “Over the past eight days, the FBI, the Pima County Sheriff’s Office, and private partners have been working closely, recovering any images or video footage that may be missing, damaged, or inaccessible in Nancy’s home, including removed recording devices,” he wrote.

Patel explained that this information was recovered from residual data in the backend systems. “This morning, law enforcement and partners discovered new images previously inaccessible, showing an armed man seemingly tampering with the camera at Nancy’s doorstep on the day of her disappearance,” Patel added.

The attached images show a man wearing a hood and gloves attempting to manipulate the camera. Patel also included two videos of the masked perpetrators.

Officials had previously stated that the doorbell camera at Nancy’s home disconnected at 1:47 a.m. on February 1. At 2:12 a.m., software from a camera recorded movement but as Nancy did not subscribe to the service, the camera did not record.

It was reported that Patel visited Tucson on Monday, but this trip was unrelated to Nancy’s disappearance. The FBI Phoenix field office stated that Patel is being briefed on the latest developments in the case by his team.

According to CNN affiliate KGUN, it is believed that Nancy’s kidnapper(s) have sent a ransom note, threatening her life if the demand for $6 million is not met by Monday afternoon, which has already passed the deadline.

Patel is urging the public to assist in any way they can. If anyone has information, please contact 1-800-CALL-FBI or visit https://tips.fbi.gov to leave a message.
