The disappearance case of Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of Savannah Guthrie, host of NBC’s “Today Show,” continues to draw attention. Neighbors have informed the authorities that a suspicious white van was seen in the neighborhood a few days before Nancy went missing.
According to a report by Fox News on Friday, Brett McIntire, a neighbor living across from Nancy, has reported clues about an unmarked suspicious white van to the police.
McIntire said, “It was a full-sized white van with no markings on the side. It was just parked there on the street. Usually, people who come to your house for work would drive vehicles with company logos, or if they are independent service providers, there would be some information on the vehicle.”
McIntire and his wife Lisa could not recall the exact date they found the van, but they said it was recent.
Lisa mentioned that after Nancy went missing, they have considered installing security cameras, “Brett and I were talking and we thought, well, maybe we should get one. Even though we have a fairly secure home with a metal gate, we are still a bit concerned.”
McIntire also stated that from now on, he will carry paper and pen when going out to record any unusual occurrences.
According to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, Nancy was last seen at her home in Tucson on the night of January 31st around 9:30 pm.
She was reported missing on February 1st after not showing up for church service. When her children arrived at her home, they found her keys, phone, and wallet, but Nancy was nowhere to be found.
A local police source told Fox News Digital that “blood droplets” were found along the path from Nancy’s house entrance to the driveway. A spokesperson for the Pima County Sheriff’s Department stated, “Investigators believe she was forcefully taken from her home, which could be a case of kidnapping or abduction.”
Investigators said on Thursday that there is currently no evidence indicating Nancy is still alive. After a ransom letter was sent to the media, the family requested proof from the kidnappers that Nancy is alive. However, as the deadline passed, they received no contact.
On Wednesday, Savannah and her siblings posted a video on Instagram, thanking the public for their prayers and describing their mother as “a kind, loyal, faithful, loving, and bright woman.” Savannah also mentioned that her mother has heart issues and requires life-sustaining medication daily.
Nancy’s son, Camron, pleaded in the video, “Whoever is holding our mother captive, we want to hear from you. We need you to reach out to us, we need a way to communicate with you. But first, we need to know where our mom is.”
Her sister, Annie, also said in the video, “There is a void in our lives. Nancy is our mother, and we are her children. Mom, if you’re listening, we need you to come home, we miss you.”
Authorities have now offered a $50,000 reward for any information regarding Nancy’s disappearance.
