Forbes China Rich List Released: Lei Jun’s Wealth Surpasses Jack Ma, Attracting Attention

The latest ranking of the Forbes China Rich List as of January 2026 has been released. Zhang Yiming, Zhong Shanshan, and Ma Huateng lead the list with assets of over 60 billion. Notable entrepreneurs such as Zeng Yuqun, Ding Lei, and Li Ka-shing also rank in the top ten. Lei Jun, the founder of Xiaomi, with a fortune of 30.4 billion US dollars, edged out Jack Ma, the founder of Alibaba, with a slim margin of 0.8 billion, attracting attention.

In the latest ranking, Zhang Yiming claimed the top spot with assets of 69.3 billion US dollars, thanks to the strong growth of ByteDance in the global market and the valuation premium of its AI business. Following closely behind are Zhong Shanshan, founder of Nongfu Spring (68 billion US dollars), and Ma Huateng, chairman of Tencent’s board (62.7 billion US dollars). The wealth gap among the top three is extremely small, intensifying the competition at the top.

Lei Jun rose to 10th place with 30.4 billion US dollars, followed closely by Jack Ma with 29.6 billion US dollars.

Wang Chuanfu, Wang Wei, Wang Ning, Wei Jianjun, and Liang Wenfeng ranked 15th, 23rd, 26th, 42nd, and 43rd respectively with fortunes of 22.8 billion, 16.6 billion, 15.9 billion, 11.5 billion, and 11.5 billion US dollars.

Additionally, the founder of BYD, Wang Chuanfu (22.8 billion US dollars), the founder of SF Express, Wang Wei (16.6 billion US dollars), the founder of Pop Mart, Wang Ning (15.9 billion US dollars), the founder of Great Wall Motors, Wei Jianjun (11.5 billion US dollars), and the founder of DeepSeek, Liang Wenfeng (11.5 billion US dollars) each ranked 15th, 23rd, 26th, 42nd, and 43rd on the list.
