Taiwan-US Biotech 2024 New York Conference Focuses on the Development of Biotechnology in the United States

The Taiwan-American Biotech Association (TAAB) held its 2024 annual conference at Hunter College of the City University of New York (CUNY) on November 16th and 17th. The theme of the conference was “Trends in Biotechnology Development in the United States – From the Laboratory to the Market.” Dr. Ching-Yung Lin, Founder and CEO of Tissue Intelligent Technology, and Dr. Ken Takeshita, Head of Global Research and Development at Daiichi Sankyo, were invited to analyze current trends in the biotechnology industry and discuss cooperation models and future developments across different fields, paving the way for interdisciplinary collaboration and industry prospects.

The forum at the conference discussed how Contract Development and Manufacturing Organizations (CDMOs) in the biomedical industry can collaborate with pharmaceutical companies to establish a better drug development process. Career development workshops invited Dr. Yan Jin, Founder and Chairman of AGM International Group, to share practical career development strategies and the diverse career paths from academia to industry.

The “Biomedical Industry 101” session featured several interdisciplinary experts sharing industry experiences, while the panel discussion on “Multi-faceted Career Paths” invited biomedical influencers to discuss how to create multiple career roles in the biomedical field.

President Hsiao-Ling Hung stated that this annual conference provided an important platform for industry and academia to exchange ideas. She thanked the TAAB board members and the organizing team for their selfless dedication, making the event a success. Through this annual gathering, Taiwanese and American biotech professionals can further thrive in the industry and embark on new chapters.
