Latest Mayor Election Poll: Mandani’s Approval Rating Surpasses 50%

On October 16th, on the same day as the first mayoral debate in New York City, a latest poll showed that the Democratic mayoral candidate has further extended his lead, garnering support from over half of the potential voters.

According to the latest poll conducted by Fox News on the day of the mayoral debate, Mandani continues to maintain a significant lead, with his support rising to 49%; Cuomo at 28%; 13% supporting the Republican candidate Sliwa; among the “potential voters,” Mandani’s support even surpassed half, reaching 52%.

Furthermore, Adams, who has dropped out of the re-election race, remains a factor as his name will still appear on the ballot, with some still voting for him.

Chris Anderson, the Democratic polling expert responsible for this poll, told Fox News, “We included him (Adams) in the survey because there are still people who will vote for him, and these votes will still be counted.”

Since the Fox News poll in September, Mandani’s support has risen, with support among potential voters increasing by 5 percentage points and among registered voters by 4 percentage points.

Mandani’s strongest support comes from very liberal voters (78%), voters under the age of 30 (67%), Democrats (63%), and women under 45 (62%).

For Cuomo, the highest support comes from moderate voters (44%), voters over 65 (44%), women aged 45 and older (42%), and independents (35%).

Among some Jewish voters, 42% support Cuomo, while support for Mandani (38%) and Sliwa (13%) is fairly balanced.

Sliwa has the support of Republican voters (60%) almost identically to supporters of former President Trump’s 2024 election (58%), while white voters without college degrees are divided among the three main candidates (each with 30%).

Over half of non-white voters support Mandani, including 51% of black voters and 52% of Hispanic voters, with around 30% of voters supporting Cuomo.

According to political analysts, if there are more than two candidates on the ballot, Mandani is almost certain to win, and the current ballot still maintains a multi-candidate competitive situation.
