Serious Criminal Case Occurs in Suizhong County, Liaoning Province, Suspect Flees Wearing Slippers

During the National Day holiday, a major criminal case occurred in Suizhong County, Huludao City, Liaoning Province, where the suspect, a middle-aged man, fled in slippers, triggering a 60,000 yuan reward from the police.

On October 8th, the Suizhong County Public Security Bureau in Liaoning reported that around 7 p.m. on October 6th, a major criminal case took place near Xinglong Road in Suizhong County. Gao Dayou, a resident of Xinglong Village in the rural outskirts of Suizhong County, had significant criminal suspicions and went into hiding following the incident.

According to the report, Gao Dayou, aged 44 with a medium build, was wearing a short-sleeved shirt, black pants, and slippers when he fled. The police encouraged the public to report any information, offering a reward of 20,000 yuan for providing clues leading to the apprehension of the suspect and 50,000 yuan for directly capturing him.

On the same day, the police updated their report, stating a 30,000 yuan reward for providing information on the suspect and 60,000 yuan for his direct capture.

On the morning of October 8th, several businesses on Xinglong Road, villagers from Xinglong Village, and staff from nearby schools confirmed that they had been alerted by the police or the village about a homicide, although they lacked specific details. One villager mentioned that “Yesterday (the 7th), the police came to my house to investigate and warn.”

At around 10 a.m., the investigating officers mentioned that the suspect had not yet been apprehended and that they couldn’t disclose further details of the case at that time.

This news has sparked attention on social media platforms.

Some members of the public commented, “Someone killed and ran away.” “It was a murder, his friend; they were drinking, and he killed him. That’s what the locals say.” “In my neighborhood, people have been afraid to go out these past few days.” “No wonder they were inspecting cars one by one on Liuhe River Bridge the night before yesterday with many police cars around.”

However, there are citizens who disagree with the police’s call for the public to directly capture the suspect, citing the high risks involved. “At the very least, they should inform us if the suspect is armed. Otherwise, who dares to catch him?” “Do they think 60,000 yuan is just there for the taking? When encountering the suspect, one should first ensure their own safety before going for the cash.” “Encouraging ordinary people to catch extremely dangerous criminals is not appropriate. What if something goes wrong, how do you explain that?”
