Recently, in Jishou, Hunan Province, a woman parked her car on the side of the road and it was damaged by a dog bite, sparking attention online. On October 3rd, the incident became a hot topic on Weibo.
A video circulating online shows a white private car parked on the roadside, with parts of its car body torn to pieces and scattered all over the ground by a black dog.
According to a report by Mainland Cover News, on the afternoon of October 1, Ms. Ma, the car owner, was sleeping at home in Jishou City, Hunan Province. A man called her and informed her that her car had been bitten by a dog and if she didn’t come soon, only the shell would be left. He urged her to hurry to the parking lot. After hanging up the phone, she initially thought it might be a scam call but still went to the parking lot to check. To her shock, she found the front of the car completely destroyed, with a black dog standing nearby.
“There were saliva and teeth marks all over it,” Ms. Ma said. A helpful man at the scene reminded her that it was the black dog from before. By the time she realized what happened, the dog had already run away.
Afterward, Ms. Ma reported the incident to the police, but due to blurry surveillance footage, the dog’s owner has not been found yet.
Ms. Ma expressed her concern, stating, “The dog was wearing a collar, which means it must have an owner. If we can’t find the dog’s owner, I don’t know if the insurance company will compensate for the damage.”
Netizens commented on the incident, with some jokingly saying, “The car body is not even as tough as my instant noodle box.” Others remarked, “This looks like a toy car.” Some discussed the usage of “dog bite” as a verb this time, rather than just a description of a dire situation, saying, “In this day and age, something that seems too logical might be a scam, while the outrageous ones turn out to be true.”
Furthermore, a netizen pointed out, “Pay attention, the car body is also covered with teeth marks and saliva, it’s not just the car body that was bitten.” Another quipped, “Now this car looks like a walnut shell.”
