Winter Storm Affects New York Area, Christmas Day May See Scattered Showers.

The National Weather Service of the United States and multiple meteorological agencies have stated that New York City and its surrounding areas will experience another wave of winter weather this week, the first since the beginning of winter. On Tuesday (23rd), there may be a mix of rain and snow in the early morning hours. As for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day potentially seeing a “white Christmas,” uncertainties still remain.

Due to the overlap of the snowfall period with the holiday travel peak during Christmas, the meteorological department has designated Tuesday as a “weather alert day,” warning of possible traffic delays.

Current weather forecasts indicate that Christmas Eve (24th) is expected to stabilize weather-wise, while Christmas Day (25th) may see scattered showers with daytime temperatures reaching around the 40s Fahrenheit. Meteorological agencies suggest that as the holidays draw near, the determination of whether a “white Christmas” will occur will become clearer. Until then, inland and high-altitude communities still retain the possibility of experiencing a white Christmas.

The weather service reminds the public to stay updated with the latest forecasts and warning information, and to make necessary preparations for holiday travel and cold weather in advance.
