Woman Grabs $3 Plane Ticket from Chengdu to Beijing After Argument with Boyfriend

Recently, several Chinese netizens posted online that they managed to snag a ticket on Hainan Airlines flying from Chengdu to Beijing on January 4th next year for only 3 yuan (Chinese currency), plus an additional 70 yuan for airport construction and fuel surcharge fees, making the total cost a mere 73 yuan. The flight is scheduled to depart at 8:30 pm. Many netizens expressed their envy towards this unbelievable deal.

Netizens shared their disbelief at the low price of the ticket, with one post saying, “Chengdu to Beijing ticket for 3 yuan? I rubbed my eyes and couldn’t believe there could be such a cheap ticket.” Another post questioned, “Why is the Chengdu-Beijing ticket so cheap? I dare not buy it.” In the comments section, a netizen shared their purchase record, stating, “It’s real because I bought it.” A screenshot of the order details showed that the ticket has been issued with a total amount of 73 yuan.

In response, many netizens expressed their envy, with comments like “So envious” and “I just checked, and the price has already gone back up.”

User “Xinyuan6688” expressed envy, saying, “I am struggling with the high-priced tickets to Harbin. This is the perfect time to travel, but it’s the most expensive. It would be great if we could have such deals more often.”

According to a report from Upstream News on December 28, they contacted a netizen who managed to get the ticket. She explained that she had a quarrel with her boyfriend in the middle of the night and was planning to book a ticket to go back home when she stumbled upon this super low-priced ticket. “After seeing the price, I quickly grabbed my boyfriend’s phone and booked another ticket. Now we have made up and are planning to go to Beijing together.”

The report mentioned that on December 27, checking the platform, it was found that the ticket price for the flight on January 4 next year had increased by over 300 yuan.

Subsequently, the platform was contacted. The staff stated that if the ticket is successfully issued at 3 yuan, it can be used normally, and the platform will provide travel experience protection for users.

In October this year, many places in China experienced a wave of “cabbage prices” for airplane tickets: starting from 179 yuan for flights from Chengdu to Lhasa, 209 yuan to Guiyang, 170 yuan to Hohhot, among others…

Many netizens noticed that when browsing for flights departing from Chengdu, the ticket prices were incredibly low, almost like “cabbage prices,” even cheaper than high-speed rail tickets.
