FBI arrests nearly 50 people in nationwide crackdown on Latin Kings gang.

On Friday, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) announced the arrest of nearly 50 members and associates of the street gang “Latin Kings” in a large-scale multi-state operation aimed at combating gang activity.

According to the FBI, since the operation began in October last year, they have seized over a dozen firearms, nearly $200,000 in illegal funds, and more than 10 kilograms of cocaine, fentanyl, and other drugs.

The operation, named “Operation Broken Crown,” lasted for three months and involved cooperation between over a dozen FBI field offices and federal, state, local, and tribal partners to curb the criminal activities of the Latin Kings gang nationwide.

In October 2025, a member of the Latin Kings gang openly threatened a law enforcement officer and was subsequently arrested.

This month, a member of the Latin Kings gang in Minnesota federal court was charged with serious crimes, including illegal possession of firearms and theft of government property. He had stolen a rifle from an FBI vehicle.

In a separate investigation by the Indianapolis FBI, a Latin Kings gang member was sentenced to 21 years of federal imprisonment in January for drug trafficking, after admitting to selling methamphetamine.

The FBI’s Milwaukee Safe Streets Task Force executed five residential search warrants this month, leading to the arrest of four Latin Kings gang members on charges of drug trafficking and illegal possession of firearms. Additionally, they confiscated 10 firearms and over $120,000 in illegal funds.

The Milwaukee FBI Task Force later arrested two more accomplices related to the case and seized a rifle with an attached bump stock device and a handgun.

FBI Director Kash Patel stated in a release, “The FBI is dismantling violent gang networks within the United States at a record pace, thwarting their operations and saving lives in the process.”

He added, “In 2025, we increased our crackdown on gangs like MS-13 and Tren de Aragua by 210%, and now, just a few weeks into 2026, we are gearing up to announce another three-month operation.”
