Landslide on road in Pu’er, Yunnan results in 5 deaths.

Due to continuous heavy rain, a landslide occurred on the road from Lancang County to Ximeng County in Pu’er City, Yunnan Province around 10 a.m. on July 27th, burying a small sedan and tragically resulting in the deaths of 5 people, as confirmed by official sources.

In the video footage, the landslide took place on a relatively narrow road, crushing the sedan severely and causing several people to engage in rescue operations at the scene. According to the source of the video, the incident happened on the road from Lancang Lahu Autonomous County to Ximeng Wa Autonomous County.

According to comments from netizens, “It is said that a teacher was planning to take her child out to play, but then this landslide occurred, flipping the vehicle over and burying the whole family.” Alleged relatives of the victims left messages expressing, “There is a kind of indescribable sadness, hoping that on the other side of heaven, my sister and little baby can be happy.”

Another netizen who had passed through the area before commented, “I walked along that road over half a month ago, with small landslides all the way, and this year’s rainy season brings even more danger with heavy rain in the region.”

In response to the incident, the emergency management bureau of Cang County informed Jiemu News that the road in that area had been closed after the accident.

On the evening of the 27th, the Pu’er City Government in Yunnan Province reported that around 13:40 on the 27th, the 5 trapped individuals were rescued, but it was confirmed that they had all tragically passed away.
