Following the attention drawn to this incident, on April 30, China Eastern Airlines issued a statement acknowledging that during the pre-departure phase of the Xi’an to Shanghai flight on the 29th, the slide was released. The company expressed deep regret for the incident.

According to a report by the Beijing News, a source familiar with the matter at the airport revealed that the plane involved was an Airbus A320 carrying passengers arriving at Pudong Airport.
