Many people have the impression that wages in the fast food industry are not high, but the door store managers at the American hamburger chain In-N-Out Burger earn an average annual salary of over $200,000.
The Chief Operating Officer of In-N-Out, Denny Warnick, confirmed to FOX Business recently that the average annual salary of store managers in the company exceeds $200,000. He stated that this reflects the company’s long-standing emphasis on valuing its employees.
Warnick said that the founders, Harry and Esther Snyder, have always believed in treating employees “like family” and striving to be an excellent employer. Therefore, offering above-average compensation is an important part of the company culture.
Today, In-N-Out still emphasizes providing competitive wages, benefits, and opportunities for career development. The company stated that many employees have been with the company for decades, carrying on the corporate culture established by the founders.
The latest data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) shows that in May 2025, the median annual salary of food service managers in the US was $69,390, with the top 10% earning over $107,640. In contrast, the average annual salary of In-N-Out store managers exceeds $200,000, significantly higher than the overall salary level of food service managers in the US.
The hamburger chain In-N-Out, headquartered in California and currently operating stores in 10 states across the US, not only attracts attention for its employee benefits but also recently made adjustments to its ingredients that caught the consumers’ eye.
Earlier this month, In-N-Out announced two ingredient adjustments: removing sesame seed powder from their hamburger buns and replacing iodized salt with sea salt.
The company stated that it has always been committed to providing customers with fresh, high-quality food, continuously improving its ingredients over the years, and will continue this work in the future.
