Zhang Lan Claims “Grandson Expelled from School”: Wang Xiaofei Rarely Disputes It’s a Transfer

In a recent update, Taiwanese celebrity Big S (Barbie Hsu) and Mainland China’s second-generation wealthy individual Wang Xiaofei ended their 10-year marriage back in 2021, and their divorce has been a continuous source of controversy ever since. Big S’s former mother-in-law, Zhang Lan, made shocking claims during a live broadcast, stating that her grandson had been expelled from school due to chronic absenteeism. Big S promptly responded and Wang Xiaofei also spoke out against his mother’s false allegations.

Zhang Lan dropped the bombshell on May 22nd during a live broadcast, claiming, “My grandson, Wang Xilin, is left unattended. He doesn’t do his homework or attend classes at school, and has been expelled.” She further added that Wang Xiaofei had put in a great deal of effort to enroll Wang Xilin in the same prestigious school as his sister, Wang Xiyue, only for him to be kicked out, leaving him unable to continue his education, which was a significant blow to her.

On the 23rd, Big S took to Weibo to deny Zhang Lan’s claims of her child being expelled. Big S stated, “My child is adapting well at school, and the rumor of expulsion is completely false. I urge Zhang Lan to stop spreading rumors and apologize.” Big S also mentioned that she had filed a restraining order with the court, prohibiting Zhang Lan from engaging in any illegal behavior towards her and her child, effectively preventing Zhang Lan from infringing on the rights of women and children.

Following Big S’s response, the topic immediately began trending on social media. In the comments section, netizens overwhelmingly sided with Big S, condemning Zhang Lan for exploiting her grandchild to gain publicity and boost online engagement to such an extent that it disregards any limits.

Subsequently, Wang Xiaofei responded during a live broadcast, stating, “My child has transferred schools to a place he prefers and is more suited for him. I hope he can grow healthily in his new school.” His remarks squarely refuted his mother’s baseless allegations.

Big S and Wang Xiaofei, who were married for a decade, announced their divorce in November 2021 and share two children. The news of their split sent shockwaves across the Taiwan Strait at that time. Earlier this year, Wang Xiaofei lost his composure and caused a scene at Big S’s residence in the Xinyi District of Taipei, leading some netizens in Mainland China to believe that his actions could “maliciously escalate cross-strait tensions,” temporarily drawing the attention of the Communist Party of China’s Taiwan Affairs Office.
