On Thursday evening (August 28th), a Polish Air Force F-16 fighter jet belonging to the “Tiger Demo Team” crashed at the Radom Airport (RDO) while preparing for an air show.
Polish Special Forces coordinator Tomasz Siemoniak confirmed that the F-16 fighter jet crashed during a rehearsal for the Radom International Air Show, resulting in the pilot’s death. Radom is located in central Poland.
The accident occurred around 7:25 PM local time. Video footage of the incident showed the F-16 fighter jet rapidly descending over the runway, failing to pull up in time, ultimately crashing and catching fire.
Siemoniak, in an interview with the private television station TVN24, mentioned that the Minister of Defense was on his way to the scene of the accident.
“We will conduct a thorough investigation into this incident,” he said.
