Nah Yuin responds with a furrowed brow when asked why she dares to participate in the program again

Chinese singer Na Ying, who had been seemingly blacklisted for nine months due to the “Li Wen incident” and other events, recently made a comeback on another singing competition show in mainland China, “Singer 2024”. During a press conference held recently, Na Ying was faced with sharp questions like “Why do you dare to participate in the program”, to which she furrowed her brows and seemed surprised by the unexpected inquiry.

On the 9th of May, Na Ying attended the press conference for “Singer 2024” and was asked by the host about her reasons for joining the show. In response to the direct question, Na Ying furrowed her brows, expressing confusion, and said, “This question is different from what I was prepared for!” It seemed she was implying that the host’s question was not what she had been briefed on.

The host added, “It was a question from a netizen, not from us.”

In response, Na Ying quickly changed her tone by stating that she was just joking earlier and answered, “I think at my age, since I’ve already come, let’s just have a bit of excitement. Let my heart beat a little, that’s all.”

Na Ying revealed that she was pleasantly surprised when she received the invitation for “Singer 2024”, but upon finding out that it would be a live broadcast, she became terrified and started having nightmares about car accidents.

In fact, Na Ying, who faced controversies last year, was first exposed by netizens for mocking a song by Dao Lang, saying it was “for farmers” when she was a program judge in the past. Dao Lang’s new song “Luosha Sea Market” from last year was interpreted by netizens as subtly referring to Na Ying and other judges from the program “The Voice of China”, mocking the scene where mentors turn away from contestants. Later, audio clips of Na Ying from the late singer Li Wen revealed scandalous incidents from the show “The Voice of China”, with some contestants openly accusing Na Ying of “profiting” from the show.

Amid the public uproar at that time, not only did the stock price of “The Voice of China” plummet, but all of Na Ying’s music activities were canceled, and she stopped updating her social media. After disappearing from the public eye for nine months, Na Ying made a public appearance on the program “Mengtan 2024” on May 5th and then appeared at the press conference for “Singer 2024” on May 9th.

The latest updates show that the first episode of “Singer 2024” was broadcast on May 10th with Na Ying, Rainie Yang, Wang Sulong, Hailai Amu, the rock band “Second Hand Rose”, as well as Chante Moore and Faouzia participating as contestants. When the lineup was revealed, many netizens speculated that Hunan TV would definitely promote Na Ying to be the champion of this season. However, when the results were announced after the live broadcast, Na Ying only secured the third place, while the top two spots were taken by foreign singers.
