Manhattan Downtown Shooting Incident Victim Identified as Brooklyn High School Student.

On Tuesday afternoon (May 7th), a shooting incident occurred in downtown Manhattan, New York City, resulting in the death of a high school student from Brooklyn.

According to police sources, the shooting took place around 2:30 p.m. outside the luxury hotel The Dominick in the SoHo district. The victim, a 16-year-old teenager, was shot and killed by a gunman riding a city-shared bike (Citi Bike).

Upon receiving a 911 call, police rushed to 233 Spring Street in the First Precinct jurisdiction, where they found the victim, a 16-year-old male, with gunshot wounds to his head and right thigh. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded and transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals / Bellevue, where he was pronounced dead.

The deceased has been identified as Mahki Brown, a 16-year-old resident of East 93rd Street in Brooklyn.

According to law enforcement sources cited by the New York Post, the shooting may be related to a dispute between two groups of female students; the victim was a student at the Broome Street Academy Charter High School located nearby.

It is currently unclear whether the student was the intended target, and no arrests have been made by the police yet.
