To counter Iran, Hezbollah launches 190 rockets at Israel

On Saturday, October 26, the Iran-backed Hezbollah launched approximately 190 rockets towards northern Israel. Later in the day, Israel retaliated by hitting 20 military sites belonging to Iran.

During the afternoon on Saturday, Hezbollah fired around 125 rockets towards northern Israel within a span of two hours, totaling about 190 rockets by 11 p.m.

The attack sparked fires at various locations in northern Israel but fortunately did not result in casualties. Israel’s air defense systems successfully intercepted four unmanned aerial vehicles launched by Hezbollah from Lebanon.

The drones triggered air raid sirens in Upper Galilee, Western Galilee, and the northern border towns of Kiryat Shmona, Metula, and Nahariya, but no injuries were reported.

Hezbollah claimed responsibility for a drone attack targeting the Tel Nof Air Force Base in southern Tel Aviv, according to a statement.

The Israeli Defense Forces stated that their 91st Division seized four truck-mounted rocket launchers during operations in southern Lebanon this week. Approximately 160 rockets were found loaded on these launchers.

Additionally, the Israeli military reported that around 130 Hezbollah launchers had been destroyed by the Israeli Air Force over the past week.

In the early hours of Saturday, Israel conducted three retaliatory strikes on 20 military sites in Tehran, Iran without prior warning. This was in response to a large-scale missile attack launched by Iran in early October.

Despite Israel’s escalating actions against Hezbollah in Lebanon, the terrorist organization continues to maintain its combat capabilities. Recently, Hezbollah launched multiple rounds of artillery attacks on northern Israel.

On Friday, rockets fired by Hezbollah struck the northern Israeli town of Majd al-Krum, resulting in two fatalities – 19-year-old Arjwan Manaa and 21-year-old Hassan Suad. The attacks have been recurrent in the region.

Among the seven injured individuals, a 21-year-old man and an elderly man were critically wounded, while two others sustained moderate injuries, and the remaining three suffered minor injuries.

Earlier that day, at least six soldiers were wounded in a rocket attack in the Shomera region of the Western Galilee province in northern Israel.

Hezbollah admitted to being responsible for the attack, stating that the target was the neighboring city of Karmiel.

Furthermore, according to the Israeli Defense Forces, Hezbollah also launched five rockets towards the northern port city of Haifa.

The rocket attacks occurred while Israeli forces were engaged in ground operations against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.

On Friday, the Israeli military announced that five reserve soldiers had been killed in battles with Hezbollah fighters in southern Lebanon the night before, with 19 others injured, some severely.
