How are Carrie Lam and Biden’s policies different? Biden responds.

On October 15, President Biden stated that if Holly Jinli wins the 2024 election, she will “forge her own path.” Biden hopes to convince voters that Jinli is capable of making reforms once in office.

“Jinli will lead the country in her own direction, which is one of the most important distinctions in this election,” Biden said. “Jinli’s perspectives on issues are fresh. Trump’s views, on the other hand, are outdated, failed, and frankly, completely dishonest.”

With only three weeks left until the presidential election day in the United States, the competition between Trump and Jinli has entered the final sprint. Despite slight advantages on one side, the two candidates are still neck and neck in various polls, making it difficult to predict the outcome of the 2024 election.

Biden’s comments not only provided more support for Jinli but also created a distance between them, allowing Jinli to further solidify her policy positions.

According to a report by the Associated Press, Jinli’s aides had privately expressed some frustrations, believing that Biden was too focused on his own political legacy and not fully supporting the successor’s campaign.

In recent times, Jinli has been facing increasing pressure to explain how her governance would differ from Biden’s if she were to take office.

This issue is much more complex than it seems on the surface. While Biden’s approval ratings remain low, some of the most crucial parts of his legislative agenda, including infrastructure development and lowering prescription drug costs, are favored by Democratic voters.

Recently, when asked about how she differs from Biden, Jinli vaguely replied, “I am not Joe Biden,” without providing specific details.

However, at the same time, she has been trying to position herself as a “candidate who can bring positive change to the country” and emphasize that she is a new generation of American political figure different from Biden and Trump. This has raised questions among some voters and become one of the focal points of criticism from Republicans.

Last week, Jinli was asked on “The View” if she would implement different policies or governing styles from Biden if she became the leader, but she failed to provide a concrete answer. Jinli only responded by saying, “We are obviously two different people, and I will bring my leadership style into sensitive issues.”

However, when pressed for specific details on future governance, Jinli stated, “I have no idea yet.”

In response to this, Trump stated that if Jinli cannot make changes different from Biden’s policies, it means she does not qualify to be President of the United States.

According to Jinli’s campaign assistant, Jinli is very loyal to Biden and unwilling to publicly make any actions that could be interpreted as criticizing Biden.

On Tuesday, Biden delivered a speech at the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers Lodge in Philadelphia. Biden said, “Every president must carve out their own path, and that’s what I did.”

“I remained loyal to Obama, but also forged my own presidential path. Jinli would do the same,” he said. “When I decided it was time to pass the torch to the next generation, I knew. I knew who I wanted to succeed me.”

Throughout his speech, Biden repeatedly criticized Trump, accusing him of refusing to accept the outcome of the 2020 election defeat.

Biden said, “Every generation faces moments when they must defend democracy. This is our moment.”
