Taiwan Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Wang Yi discusses in the United Nations lay the groundwork for an attack on Taiwan.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China (Taiwan) pointed out that during his speech at the United Nations General Assembly, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi once again falsely claimed that UN General Assembly Resolution 2758 resolved the representation issue of the whole of China, including Taiwan, in the United Nations. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China strongly condemned this statement and called on the international community to recognize the malicious intentions of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to create a legal basis for future aggression against Taiwan.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, speaking at the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly on September 28th, Eastern Time, claimed that UN General Assembly Resolution 2758 completely resolved the representation issue of the whole of China, including Taiwan, in the United Nations.

On the 29th, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China (Taiwan) issued a press release reiterating that the objective reality of the Taiwan Strait and the internationally recognized fact is that Taiwan and the People’s Republic of China are not subordinate to each other.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Taiwan pointed out that UN General Assembly Resolution 2758 does not mention Taiwan, does not confirm Taiwan as part of the People’s Republic of China, nor authorize the People’s Republic of China to represent Taiwan in the United Nations. The resolution is irrelevant to Taiwan and does not address the representation issue of Taiwan in the United Nations. The ministry emphasized once again that only the democratically elected government of Taiwan can represent Taiwan in international organizations, including the United Nations.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Taiwan demanded that the CCP stop misleading the international community and called on the international community to recognize the CCP’s malicious intentions to unilaterally change the status quo in the Taiwan Strait by distorting UN General Assembly Resolution 2758, creating a legal basis for future aggression against Taiwan. It urged proactive countermeasures to jointly maintain peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait, the rules-based international order, and prosperity.

On the 25th, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China Lin Chia-lung published an article in the media in New England, USA, pointing out the CCP’s malicious misinterpretation of UN General Assembly Resolution 2758, its brazen suppression of Taiwan’s legitimate rights to participate in the UN system, and calling for support for Taiwan’s inclusion in the United Nations to ensure peace, stability, and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region.
