2024 Taiwan Agricultural and Fisheries Specialties Festival Grandly Unveiled

The Taiwan Agricultural and Fisheries Specialty Festival 2024 was inaugurated on September 20 (Friday) at the Evergreen Supermarket in Cupertino. The opening ceremony was attended by Chen Ailan, head of the Economic Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in San Francisco, Tsou Changqing, Director of the Taipei Trade Center in San Francisco, and several overseas Chinese community leaders.

The festival is organized by the Northern California Silicon Valley Kangbao Food Company, in collaboration with the Taiwan Ministry of Agriculture and the Taiwan Top 100 Young Farmers Association.

Over the next three weeks, the event will take place at the Evergreen Supermarket in Cupertino, aiming to promote high-quality agricultural and fisheries products from Taiwan to mainstream markets. The featured products for the first week include Taiwan green bamboo shoots and corn shoots.

During the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Chen Ailan, the division head, highlighted Taiwan’s internationally renowned agricultural products and agricultural technology, known for their diversity, healthiness, deliciousness, and multiple advantages such as traceable origin. He expressed confidence in these products, believing that the Bay Area residents will warmly receive them. Particularly in recent years, many young farmers in Taiwan have returned to their hometowns to engage in agriculture, further enhancing the quality and competitiveness of Taiwan’s agricultural products.

Director Tsou Changqing stated that the Taipei Trade Center in San Francisco is a branch of the Taiwan External Trade Development Council, with the primary responsibility to assist Taiwanese businesses in promoting high-quality products to international markets. Today’s event can be considered a very successful example of collaboration between the Taiwan Ministry of Agriculture and the Kangbao Supermarket, showcasing the strength of Taiwan’s agriculture.

The representative from Kangbao mentioned that the Taiwan Agricultural and Fisheries Specialty Festival brings together premium products produced from Taiwan’s most advanced agricultural and fisheries technology, including a variety of fresh seafood, juices, grass jelly, and other distinctive items. Among them, green bamboo shoots and corn shoots are particularly anticipated by the Taiwanese community.

Taiwanese green bamboo shoots are freshly harvested and undergo high-temperature high-pressure processing on the same day, vacuum-sealed to preserve the best sweetness and texture without adding preservatives or sweeteners, making them a convenient and healthy snack option.

Furthermore, the Kangbao representative pointed out that the Silicon Valley area in Northern California has a large population of new immigrants, many of whom are familiar with Asian cuisine. Over the next three weekends, the Evergreen Supermarket in Cupertino (address: 10122 Bandley Dr., Cupertino, CA 95014) will host tasting events for various products. Local residents are encouraged to participate and stay tuned for more updates.
