Taiwanese Corporations Recruitment Delegation to Visit New York University and Columbia University in October

The Taiwan Economic Ministry and Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), in collaboration with the New York Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce and the New Jersey Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce, will be hosting the “2024 Taiwan Job Fair in the U.S.” on October 10-11 in New York. This year marks the first time this job fair is being held on the East Coast, featuring nearly 20 companies including Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (Arizona branch), Delta Electronics, Lite-On Technology Corporation, Industrial Technology Research Institute, Taiwan Plastics Industry Corporation, Taiwan Cooperative Bank, CyCognitive Technology, DotCup Tea, ZuDent Medical Spa, and Yuhjung Group, offering over 200 internship, part-time, and full-time job opportunities.

To assist Taiwanese companies in attracting global talents, for the first time, the event is partnered with two prestigious New York universities – New York University (NYU) and Columbia University. It’s worth noting that due to capacity limitations, participation in the events at these universities is limited to their students.

On October 10, activities at New York University will include academic exchanges with the university’s career center and a networking event for companies and talents. All NYU students and alumni are welcomed to participate, providing them with the opportunity for face-to-face discussions with companies. Additionally, the event will feature complimentary Taiwanese delicacies such as pearl milk tea, fried chicken, and cream puffs for attendees.

On October 11, the delegation will participate in Columbia University’s campus job fair. In collaboration with Columbia University’s School of Engineering and Applied Science, one-on-one talent interviews will be conducted. Applicants can submit their resumes directly to companies they are interested in, and qualified candidates will have the chance to directly interview with the companies. All Columbia University students are encouraged to participate enthusiastically.

Ms. Tsai Hsiu-chen, Director of TAITRA’s New York office, stated, “The job fair has always been a significant event for TAITRA. The East Coast is home to many excellent schools. This year we chose to hold the event in New York for the first time and have partnered with two renowned universities here, aiming to assist Taiwanese companies in attracting outstanding professional talents.”

The job opportunities at the fair are diverse, including software and hardware engineers, international talent development executives, financial analysts, overseas sales representatives, project managers, and marketing personnel. The United States is an important location for Taiwanese companies in their overseas expansion strategy. Ms. Tsai Hsiu-chen also expressed hopes that through this event and collaboration with local schools, long-term relationships will be established to foster more cooperation opportunities in the future.
