Female Director of Hunan Finance Department Falls to Her Death, Internet Rumors Say She Was Tied Up and Thrown off a Building

Recently, a series of mysterious deaths of Chinese Communist Party officials have been reported. Following the murder of judge Wang Jiajia in Luoyang, Henan, and the rumored extermination of the entire family of the deputy mayor of Xianyang, attention has now turned to the bizarre death of Liu Wenjie, the director of the Finance Department of Hunan Province.

On September 19, an insider from the finance system of Hunan Province confirmed to The Paper that Liu Wenjie unexpectedly passed away in the morning, leaving many shocked and saddened by the news.

According to the insider, Liu Wenjie lived in a residential building inside the compound of the Hunan Provincial Finance Department and had grown up through the ranks within the department. The Chengnan Police Station in Tianxin District, Changsha City, revealed that an incident did occur in the finance department compound, and the police had been called to the scene, but further details were not disclosed due to confidentiality. The Changsha Public Security Bureau will provide updates as the investigation progresses.

Reports indicate that there were allegedly three individuals who fell to their deaths from a building at the scene, all of whom have reportedly died. Currently, the area has been cordoned off by the police.

According to information circulating on various social media platforms, screenshots suggest that “this morning, the serving director of the Finance Department of Hunan, Liu Wenjie, was tied up and thrown from the window by two individuals. They all died on the spot, and these two individuals also committed suicide.” Checking the official website of the Finance Department of Hunan Province confirms that the Party Secretary and Director of the Finance Department, Liu Wenjie, matches the details of the circulating information.

When reporters from The Paper interviewed the office of the Finance Department of Hunan Province regarding the viral news, the staff mentioned that they were unaware and had not seen Director Liu at work.

A former colleague of Liu Wenjie told Economic Observer reporters, “Liu Wenjie was very dedicated, working in the office until around 11 p.m. almost every day.”

Information from the website of the Finance Department of Hunan Province indicates that Liu Wenjie currently serves as the Party Secretary and Director of the department, overseeing all aspects of its work. She is in charge of the Budget Department and the Finance Supervision Bureau (Audit Office). In December 2022, Liu Wenjie was appointed as the Director of the Hunan Finance Department.

Her resume, as published on the website of the Hunan Provincial Statistics Bureau, shows that Liu Wenjie, a native of Liuyuan, Hunan, was born in 1966 and started working in 1990, joining the Communist Party in 1985. She has held various positions throughout her career, including Assistant Research Officer in the Administrative and Legal Department of the Hunan Provincial Finance Department, Deputy Director, Director of the Party Committee Office, Chairman of the Office Union, Director of Personnel and Education Department, Member of the Party Group of the Provincial Finance Department, Deputy Director, Director of the Statistics Bureau of the Provincial Party Committee, and Director of the Provincial Finance Department.

The mysterious death of Liu Wenjie, Director of the Hunan Provincial Finance Department, has sparked discussions among netizens.

“Even the heavens have feelings”: Tying up government officials and throwing them off a building, even movies dare not depict such scenes.

“Waves not vessels”: Tied up and thrown down, isn’t it intentionally causing death, leading to murder?

“Untying for the city”: Is it because the Finance Department owes money and cannot repay?

“Alice doesn’t eat coriander_Meow”: Not repaying is one thing, seeking revenge is enough. Why did the two individuals accompany the act of revenge if it needed to be made public?

“The most adorable onion_o_O”: At the criminal level and as a director, how could one still dare to do such things? The grudge must be significant.

Recent reports of Communist Party officials being involved in fatal incidents are being suppressed by the authorities.

The Yancheng District Court in Luohe City, Henan Province, recently issued a notice stating that on the evening of August 7, Vice Chief Judge and first-class judge Wang Jiajia was killed by someone named Party. Party has already taken poison and is in a coma. The notice also mentioned that Party developed hatred towards Wang Jiajia because of dissatisfaction with the judgement regarding a traffic accident dispute.

Following the fatal attack on Wang Jiajia, official praise for the deceased judge and smearing of the perpetrator by the authorities has sparked controversy. An analysis of the incident in Henan has pointed out that the authorities have deliberately manipulated public opinion, while also revealing the underlying strategic cooperation between judges and insurance companies.

Additionally, on September 5, the Xianyang Public Security Bureau in Shaanxi Province issued a wanted notice, stating that they are investigating a serious criminal case, and five individuals, including Zhang Zhihao and Zhang Pengfei, are suspected of major crimes and have been on the run since July 19, 2024. The police notice did not disclose the specifics of the crimes committed by the five individuals.

According to information circulating online, an internal source from the public security sector revealed that these five individuals were part of a “gang committing crimes” who robbed the deputy mayor of Xianyang’s home and exterminated the entire family.

Regarding the online rumors of the assassination of the deputy mayor of Xianyang and his family, a local informant, who goes by the alias Fang Hao, told Epoch Times that the matter is too sensitive, and the authorities would definitely not dare to reveal the truth. “If the truth is told, given the current emotional state of the Chinese people, everyone would applaud, and who would help you catch the perpetrators? Whenever a high-ranking official in China dies, everyone is so happy, setting off firecrackers in celebration.”

Another classmate of Zhang Pengfei informed reporters that Zhang Pengfei had voluntarily surrendered himself. His boss was in the bathing industry, involved in money laundering for leaders. He stated that the matter was too sensitive, and he dared not say more.
