Kennedy Junior Reveals Helping Trump Choose Heads of FDA, NIH, and CDC

Former independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who recently announced pausing his campaign and turning to support Trump, revealed on Tuesday (September 17) during a live broadcast with conservative commentator Tucker Carlson that Trump had extended an olive branch to him. If Trump secures a second term, Kennedy will be in charge of selecting leaders for America’s public health institutions.

Kennedy told Carlson that if Trump wins in November’s election, he will be responsible for eliminating the “corrupt influence” within various public health institutions in the U.S. He will have the authority to choose leaders for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

“President Trump specifically asked me to do two things. First, to address the corruption issues in these institutions and to break the control of corruption over the institutions. In other words, to drain the swamp,” Kennedy said.

In a previous interview with Carlson last month, Kennedy mentioned that if Trump is elected, Trump will invite him to join the transition team.

However, Karoline Leavitt, a spokesperson for Trump’s campaign team, stated that these discussions are a bit “premature” and it is not appropriate to speculate on who will hold what position in Trump’s potential second term at this point in time.
