Target car seat “trade-in” program returns, exchange for coupons like this

Target, the U.S. retailer, is set to host a “Trade-In Event for Car Seats” this month. Customers can bring in their old car safety seats or bases to their local Target stores and receive a 20% discount coupon to be used towards purchasing new car safety seats, strollers, or other baby items.

From now until September 28th during the event, participants can drop off their old car seats or bases into designated boxes at any Target store. Then, scan the QR code on the box to add the reward to Target Circle Bonus. Assistance can be sought from the counter or customer service at any time.

For qualifying items, the reward is a 20% discount coupon at Target stores. From now until October 12, 2024, customers can exchange twice and combine with other promotions to purchase eligible items such as various seats, children’s playpens, high chairs, rockers, walkers, and more.

Which items are eligible for the trade-in event? Target’s website states that baby car seats, convertible car seats, car seat bases, boosters or high back seats, and damaged car seats are all eligible for replacement.

Since its introduction in 2016, Target’s “Trade-In Event” program has collected over 3 million car seats, equivalent to about 45 million pounds of materials.
