Which Presidential Candidate Do Billionaires Support? A Chart Reveals it

The need for significant fundraising in American elections is evident, with both Vice President Harris and former President Trump relying on contributions from small donors and billionaires to finance their campaigns. However, the power and influence of billionaires seem to hold greater sway over potential government outcomes compared to small donors.

According to Bloomberg, who compiled data from the Federal Election Commission, a list has been prepared of billionaires who have donated to the candidates of both parties, as well as some wealthy individuals who have given verbal endorsements without making donations.

In total, Trump has received donations from 13 billionaires, totaling over $24.4 million. Harris, on the other hand, has garnered donations from 20 billionaires, surpassing $12.8 million, including individuals who donated to Biden’s campaign team before his withdrawal, which were then transferred to her upon becoming the candidate.

Trump’s major contributors include Miriam Adelson, widow of Las Vegas Sands (LVS) Group founder, Diane Hendricks from ABC Supply, and Kelcy Warren, Chairman of Energy Transfer. Each of them made the highest donations to the “Trump 47 Committee” and contributed $5 million to an allied super PAC.

The wealthiest billionaire donor supporting Harris is former Google CEO Eric Schmidt, who has invested nearly $3 million in her campaign.

Additionally, billionaire Michael R. Bloomberg, founder of Bloomberg LP, is a major donor to the Democratic Party, having donated $19 million to the “Future Forward Political Action Committee” and $930,000 to the Biden Victory Fund.

The following is a list of America’s richest individuals supporting presidential candidates, ranked by net worth, as well as some key figures worth noting:
