On September 23rd, after the Chinese Communist Party leader Xi Jinping arrived in Washington, a large number of protesters had already gathered, using props such as coffins, wreaths, Winnie the Pooh dolls, etc., to symbolically bury the Chinese Communist Party and calling for “ending the CCP, and holding Xi Jinping accountable.”
In the evening of September 23rd, outside the Waldorf Astoria hotel where Xi Jinping was staying, the sounds of protests echoed continuously. There were also several individuals believed to be Chinese Communist spies wearing hats, masks, and sunglasses monitoring the protesters. Among the protesters gathered near the hotel, not only Chinese individuals were present, but also many American citizens joined in.
After Xi Jinping arrived in Washington, protesters used various props, with some holding black flags, others carrying paper coffins, some holding wreaths, Winnie the Pooh dolls, as well as a naked “Xi Emperor” cardboard cutout, and even a “Dragon Robe Brother.” The protest signs bore slogans such as “Liberate Hong Kong,” “Remove the Dictator Xi Jinping,” “Organ Harvesting,” “Xi Jinping Step Down,” “Down with the Communist Party,” and more.
Protester Feng, on the 23rd, posted on X platform, saying: “I am not against normal exchanges between China and the United States, nor do I oppose others welcoming Xi Jinping. But I also have the right to oppose the political governance represented by him.”
“I have lived in China for decades and know the feeling of an ordinary person not daring to openly criticize those in power. Today, being in America, if I remain silent out of fear, then what is the point of coming to a free society?”
“Some may welcome Xi Jinping, that’s their freedom; my standing up in protest is also my freedom,” he wrote.
