Popular Japanese band flumpool was scheduled to hold a concert in Osaka on the 9th, but had to announce a postponement due to lead vocalist Ryuta Yamamura’s inflamed throat. As a result, Yamamura wrote a letter of apology to the band members, staff, and fans.
The official announcement from flumpool on the 9th stated, “Today’s Osaka performance of the 15th Anniversary tour 2024 ‘This is flumpool!!!! ~Let’s meet in the evening of the 15th~’ has been postponed due to lead vocalist Ryuta Yamamura’s inflamed throat. We concluded that it would be difficult to proceed with the show under optimal conditions, hence the delay. Despite our efforts to go through with the performance as planned, the condition of Yamamura’s throat did not improve. We sincerely apologize for informing everyone on the eve of the performance.”
Lead vocalist Ryuta Yamamura also took to the official Twitter account to express his regrets, saying, “To everyone who was looking forward to the performance, especially those who made time and effort to come to Osaka, and those who adjusted their schedules to be here, I offer my heartfelt apologies. Considering everyone’s time and money, and most importantly, meeting everyone’s expectations, I pushed myself through training and therapy until the eve of the performance. However, after careful deliberation with members and staff, we decided that rescheduling would be a better choice for a flawless performance.”
He added, “Due to the postponement, there may be those who are unable to attend or have prior commitments. I scold myself for being a professional singer but losing value, and I will take this experience as a foundation to bring you even more growth in songs. I hope for your understanding.”
Given that Yamamura had previously suffered from a functional voice disorder in December 2017 and took a year-long break from activities, fans were concerned about his health. Addressing this, Yamamura reassured, “Unlike during the period with the voice disorder, this is something that will recover after some rest. I hope everyone can patiently wait for me.”
He went on to say, “I am truly sorry for the situation today. I couldn’t apologize to everyone in person, so I am using this platform (Official X) to inform everyone,” and extended his apologies to flumpool members, staff, and fans.
Furthermore, it was announced that the rescheduled performance of flumpool will take place on July 6th.
