The Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association announced on August 3 that it has started accepting applications for the 2027 Rose Court members.
According to the city news agency, there are numerous applicants vying for a spot on the Rose Court every year. Those selected will serve as ambassadors for the Rose Parade, the Pasadena community, and the greater Los Angeles area. The organizers stated that the chosen candidates will participate in various community activities, undergo relevant training and experiences to boost their confidence, and cultivate a spirit of service.
In a statement, the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association mentioned, “We are looking for applicants with different skills and perspectives, including natural speakers, youth leaders, academic achievers, or school and community leaders.” Applicants do not need to possess all qualifications because the final members of the Rose Court will collectively form a diverse ambassador group.
Each selected Rose Court member will receive a $7,500 educational scholarship.
Eligibility requirements include residency in the Pasadena Area Community College District and full-time enrollment within the district, or living in seven other qualifying zip code areas such as Eagle Rock, Highland Park, San Gabriel, and Alhambra.
The first round of interviews will take place on September 5 and September 8 at the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association located at 391 S. Orange Grove Blvd.
The list of 2027 Rose Court members will be announced on September 28 this year, and the 108th Rose Queen will be revealed and crowned on October 27.
The new Rose Court members will participate in the 138th Rose Parade on January 1, 2027, and attend the College Football Playoff quarterfinals of the 113th Rose Bowl Game held on the same day.
