Mexico serial car accident kills 9 and injures 10, 4 American citizens injured.

On Sunday, July 12th, a multiple-vehicle collision occurred on a highway in Jalisco, Mexico, resulting in at least 9 deaths and 10 injuries, including 4 American citizens. The local civil defense department reported that the accident also caused several vehicles to catch fire, with the injured being taken to hospitals for treatment.

According to Reuters, the accident took place on a highway connecting Guadalajara to Tepic. A heavy truck collided with several vehicles that were stopped due to the accident, leading to a chain reaction of rear-end collisions and resulting in severe casualties.

The civil defense department of Jalisco stated that the accident claimed the lives of 9 individuals, including 2 minors; around 10 others were injured, with 2 members of the Mexican National Guard in critical condition and hospitalized at Magdalena Hospital in Guadalajara.

Additionally, 4 lightly injured American citizens were transported to local hospitals by private ambulances. Following the accident, videos shared on social media by local media showed multiple vehicles engulfed in flames, with thick smoke billowing. The highway was temporarily closed, and rescue teams quickly arrived at the scene to extinguish the fires and assist the injured.

As of now, authorities have not yet disclosed the cause of the accident, and investigations are ongoing.
