Apple announced on Wednesday (August 26) that they will be holding a new product launch event at their headquarters in Cupertino, California on September 9. It is expected that the company will unveil the latest iPhone series during the event, and there is speculation that they may also introduce the highly anticipated foldable screen phone.
The invitation sent out to the media by Apple features the slogan “Surprise and shine” along with a glowing Apple logo. The event is set to kick off at 10 a.m. Pacific Time.
Analysts predict that Apple will showcase a new iPhone and Apple Watch at this launch event, which may include the company’s first foldable screen phone.
The debut of the first foldable screen iPhone is expected to be a significant milestone for Apple; analysts point out that such high-end devices will drive up the company’s pricing and profit margins.
With the introduction of the foldable phone, Apple is also poised to challenge Samsung Electronics and disrupt Samsung’s dominant position in the niche but rapidly growing market of foldable screen smartphones.
In addition, a new version of Siri, called “Siri AI,” is set to make an appearance. This version utilizes advanced natural language model technology, enabling Siri to operate messaging and calendar applications.
The September 9 event will be the first held by Apple since John Ternus took over as CEO. Current CEO Tim Cook is stepping down and will transition to the role of executive chairman on September 1.
This week, Apple released new models of Mac Mini and Mac Studio, with shipments scheduled to begin on September 22.
