With the increasing variety of car models produced by automotive manufacturers, consumers have more options than ever before. Sometimes, choosing a new car can be overwhelming due to the dizzying array of choices available. At such times of hesitation, it might be wise to consider the choices of the masses, as thousands of people have already put your desired car model through the “market test”.
《美國新聞與世界報導》 (U.S. News & World Report) has compiled a list of the best-selling car models so far in 2026, including sedans, trucks, and SUVs, with data covering sales in the second quarter of this year. For each model on the list, the magazine lists the main features, technical specifications, and which specific versions contributed to these sales figures. For example, the Honda CR-V has both a gasoline version and a hybrid version. The magazine will review each version separately, but when tallying sales, it will list the total sales of that model series.
Undoubtedly, the iconic pickup truck models from American auto manufacturers still dominate, with the Ford F-Series leading the pack. Among non-pickup models, the Honda CR-V takes the top spot, even outselling the Ram Pickups, ranking third overall. The Toyota Camry follows closely behind, ranking fifth overall. The once globally best-selling Toyota RAV4 has dropped to eighth place due to production limitations not meeting demand.
Here are the top 10 best-selling cars so far this year:
Sales: 357,801 units
The Ford F-Series has been the best-selling vehicle in the U.S. for many years and shows no signs of slowing down. The statistical data also includes the all-electric F-150 Lightning and heavy-duty F-Series models.
Sales: 276,074 units
The Chevrolet Silverado still trails behind its competitor, the Ford F-150, but it maintains a significant lead over other models on the list. The full-size Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is the best-selling model in the series, with sales figures also including heavy-duty versions and the Silverado EV.
Sales: 226,114 units
The Honda CR-V’s appealing design and excellent reputation have made it a favorite among consumers, ranking first among non-pickup models. Despite its slightly higher price, most customers ultimately choose the CR-V Hybrid.

Ram maintains a simple strategy, offering only the full-size 1500 model and heavy-duty 2500 and 3500 models. Although the Ram 1500 may not match competitors in versions and payload/towing capacity, it leads in comfort and luxury.
