On the early morning of May 27th, a 3.2-magnitude earthquake struck Puyang, Henan Province, causing noticeable shaking for many residents. Just the previous night, a 3.1-magnitude earthquake also occurred in Jingdong County, Pu’er City, Yunnan Province. As both earthquakes happened at night, many people were startled awake from their sleep, sparking discussions on social media.
According to the China Earthquake Networks Center, the earthquake in Puyang, Henan Province, occurred at 0:46 on May 27th, with a depth of 10 kilometers. The epicenter was located at 35.71 degrees north latitude and 115.24 degrees east longitude. The average altitude within a 5-kilometer radius of the epicenter is about 50 meters.
Videos circulating on Weibo showed real-time monitoring footage of the earthquake in Puyang, indicating that residents in areas such as Hualong District and Puyang County felt their beds shaking and heard windows and doors making noises.

Just about two hours before the earthquake in Puyang, the China Earthquake Networks Center reported a 3.1-magnitude earthquake in Jingdong County, Pu’er City, Yunnan Province at 22:49 on May 26th (24.63 degrees north latitude, 100.62 degrees east longitude), with a depth of 10 kilometers.
Local residents similarly reported feeling the tremors at night. Netizen “Mikalray13” described feeling as if someone kicked the bottom of the bed while lying down.
