In Zhengzhou, Henan Province, a tobacco and alcohol store in Jinshui District was robbed yesterday (November 20th). Several men drove an SUV and directly crashed through the storefront door before entering to loot merchandise, resulting in a loss of about 230,000 yuan for the store owner.
According to mainland media report from “Jímù News,” in the early morning hours around 2 o’clock yesterday, several members of a theft gang were scouting for targets in Jinshui District of Zhengzhou. They initially attempted to push open the door of a shop but failed, then resorted to using tools from their vehicle to try to force it open, but to no avail. Subsequently, they returned to their vehicle and rammed the large gate of the tobacco and alcohol store with the SUV.
Surveillance footage from inside the store showed that when the SUV crashed through the glass door of the shop, it produced a loud noise. Following this, the vehicle parked in front of the store, and three men wearing hats and masks calmly entered with flashlights to start loading tobacco and alcohol onto the car in batches. Some of the items were packed into cardboard boxes, which were then lifted onto the vehicle. Once the entire process was completed, the individuals left smoothly.
The related video circulated on social media yesterday but has since been taken down by the original uploader this morning. When mainland media reporters asked the local police station if the perpetrators had been apprehended, authorities only responded that they received a report from the owner of the stolen goods, estimating the loss at around 230,000 yuan, mentioning that further details could not be disclosed.
Another tobacco and alcohol store owner nearby revealed that his store’s surveillance cameras also captured footage of this theft gang. He expressed, “This is not just theft, but outright robbery in broad daylight; it’s too brazen!”
