Zhejiang Construction Investment Group Co., Ltd. (referred to as “Zhejiang Jian Tou”) employee director Shen Kang passed away recently at the age of 54. According to informed sources, Shen Kang died after falling from a building.
On July 3, Zhejiang Jian Tou issued a notice stating that Shen Kang, the employee director of the fourth session of the board of directors, passed away recently.
According to a post on the mainland Chinese WeChat account “ZhGu” on July 5, informed sources stated that Shen Kang fell from a building. Just two weeks ago, on June 20, Guan Manyu, former member of Zhejiang Jian Tou’s party committee and deputy general manager, was announced to be under investigation for “suspected serious violations of discipline and law”.
Public records show that Shen Kang has held positions such as manager of the Investment Development Department and Industrial Development Department of Zhejiang Construction Investment Group Co., Ltd.; secretary of the party committee and chairman of Zhejiang Construction Machinery Group Co., Ltd.; and secretary of the party committee and chairman of Zhejiang Changcheng Construction Group Co., Ltd. In July 2014, he was concurrently appointed as a standing committee member of the Jiashan County Committee and deputy county head.
Starting from July 2016, Shen Kang successively served as the deputy chief economist, manager of the Investment Management Department, director of the PPP Center, director of the board office, director of the party and government office, and employee director of Zhejiang Construction Investment Group Co., Ltd.
From September 2019, Shen Kang served as the director of the General Office and employee director of Zhejiang Construction Investment Group Co., Ltd. From June 2021 until his passing, he held the position of employee director of Zhejiang Construction Investment Group Co., Ltd.
Zhejiang Jian Tou is one of the earliest state-owned enterprises established in Zhejiang and is also the largest construction industry enterprise group in the province. Its core member companies include Zhejiang Construction Engineering, Zhejiang First Construction, Zhejiang Second Construction, Zhejiang Third Construction, and Xinjiang Tajian 359 Construction, among others.
Financial data shows that in the first quarter of 2025, Zhejiang Jian Tou achieved operating income of 20.182 billion yuan and a profit of 227 million yuan, representing an 11.62% increase from the same period last year when the profit was 203 million yuan.
