On the evening of April 27th, the 20th Huabiao Awards ceremony was held in Qingdao, Shandong Province, China. Zhang Ziyi was dressed in a black long gown and high heels, looking as elegant as ever. She took the stage to perform a poetry recitation with Wang Yibo and others.
According to reports from mainland Chinese media, as she was preparing to leave the stage after the performance, Zhang Ziyi accidentally stepped on some loose wires, causing her to slip and lose balance, resulting in a fall. In a video circulating online, many people rushed to help her up.
On April 29th, a netizen posted a video online stating, “I encountered Zhang Ziyi at the high-speed rail station; she was being pushed in a wheelchair by staff… looks like the fall was not light.” The video showed Zhang Ziyi wearing a face mask and sunglasses, dressed in a loose black casual outfit, being pushed in a wheelchair by staff. Despite appearing slightly fatigued, she seemed stable overall, without showing signs of panic or anxiety.
In response to the public concern and discussions, Zhang Ziyi’s agent Ji Lingling stated on April 29th, “She has seen the doctor… and is heading in a positive direction, no problem.” This statement provided some reassurance to fans.
